Problems Can be Opportunities in Disguise

by : Denis Waitley

One of the most desirable attitudes of a leader is an ability to view problems as opportunities and setbacks as temporary inconveniences. This positive attitude also welcomes change as friendly and is not upset by surprises, even negative ones. How we approach challenges and problems is a crucial aspect of our decision making process, whether in business or in our personal lives. In companies and environments in which criticism, pessimism, cynicism, and motivation by fear prevail, an attitude develops that leads to avoiding failure at all costs. The trouble with failure avoidance is that it’s simultaneously avoidance of success, which depends on big risks.

Innovation and creativity are impossible when people are in fear of being penalized for failure.

Early experience often teaches that failure is to be avoided at all costs. This begins in childhood, when we encounter the first “No!!” It grows like a weed when we are criticized by our parents, other family members, our teachers, and our peers. It leads to associating ourselves with our mistakes, and to a self-image of clumsiness and awkwardness. Not wanting to be criticized or rejected, many adults also seek security rather than risk looking foolish or appearing awkward. They quietly ride with the system, not rocking the boat.

I moved to Montreal, Canada when I was six. My father was driving a taxi at the time. My mother worked at K-Mart. I went to high school, to grade 11, and didn’t know what I was going to do with my life. When I left school, I went to work at a job for a software development company, was making about $10,000 a year when I was 18 years old or 19 years old, and thought that I wanted more out of my life.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BECOME WEALTHY?

by Loral Langemeier

Imagine never worrying about money ever again. Allow yourself to get lost in this fantasy for a moment: your bills are always paid with ease, you own several beautiful homes, your kids are attending the top colleges, and the money just keeps rolling in quicker than you can spend it.

Did you get a clear image? Or did you starting thinking things like, “It’s silly to get lost in a fantasy,” or “That’s nice for someone else, but it won’t happen to me,” or even, “Who am I to think I could have that?” Some of us can more easily visualize our dreams than others, and when it comes to being wealthy, your ability to do this is a key factor in your success.

Absolutely anyone can become a millionaire

Anyone can become a millionaire. Yes, I mean anyone, including you. I don’t care how much debt you’re in, or your line of work. And, not just wealthy, but a millionaire. I know because I’m a wealth coach who specializes in doing just that: making people millionaires.

If you think you can’t become a millionaire, you won’t. But if you want to become wealthy, you’ll have to change your attitude and behavior when it comes to wealthy.

I cover the many aspects of this process in my book, The Millionaire Maker, but for now let’s just focus on the mental aspect. As essential first step in becoming a millionaire is the ability to open up your mind to the very real possibility that you can have whatever it is you dream of.

Thinking of poverty or wealth?

“Being poor is a frame of mind.”
– Mike Todd

What do you think of money?

Our beliefs create our reality. If you have struggled with money most of your adult life, chances are that something happened when you were young to create limiting beliefs around money and prosperity. Look back to your early years. What beliefs did your parents and other influential adults have about money? Chances are you’re also carrying those beliefs. Are they serving you?

“The law of abundance is that everything replicates after its own kind. Like is attracted to like. If you want more wealth, concentrate of wealth; think thoughts of abundance and wealth.”
– Delfin Knowledge System

Heal your relationship with MONEY with our 90 day support program. Discover and resolve your behaviours, emotions and limiting beliefs around money. Shift your money consciousness, your self worth and your net worth.

The Success Solution: How You May be Preventing Your Own Success

The Success Solution: How You May be Preventing Your Own Success

Recently I worked with a client who found himself in a couple of situations many of us have either experienced, or fear experiencing.  He called me, feeling down, frustrated and anxious about his future.  In the same week, he was laid off at work and experienced the end of a six-year relationship.  Ouch!

As we explored his situation, we discovered a couple of things.  First, he really didn’t like his job and it was not leading him towards the financial success he desired.  And second, the relationship that ended was an unhappy one for quite some time.  Yet, he wanted to hold on to both of them and felt upset over what had occurred.

You see, many of us find ourselves in similar situations in life.  We have something that isn’t quite what we want, but if we were to lose it great fear and insecurity arises.

Why?

There are two forces that drive your life and prevent you from really having what you desire: Attachments and aversions.

We become attached to what is comfortable for us; things that give us a false sense of having what we want; things that temporarily make us feel better for brief moments only to leave us feeling rotten later.  These attachments can include unfulfilling jobs, relationships that lack passion, bad habits such as smoking or overeating, and thousands of other possibilities.

Our attachments often prevent us from making the space in our life to have what we really desire.  If life is a buffet, we have our plates full of food we don’t really like meaning there isn’t any room for dessert.

Hanging on to that unfulfilling job for its false sense of security prevented this man from finding work he feels excited about doing – or starting a business of his own.  His attachment to the mediocre relationship prevented him from exploring new possibilities and meeting someone who really loved him, and someone he really loved in turn.

We he saw this for himself, his energy took a dramatic turn in the positive direction.  He saw new opportunity in his life instead of fear and loss.  This one simple realization could likely change the course of his entire life.

We also have aversions.  These are the things in life that feel uncomfortable to us.  It could be making an important phone call, or asking out someone we are really attracted to, or getting in front of a room and sharing our brilliance.  Aversions prevent us from moving forward, taking action and manifesting what we desire.  Aversions prevent you from acting on your immense potential.

What are attachments and aversions and how can we overcome them?

Attachments and aversions are nothing more than feelings.  Many of us say “I am frustrated”, but the truth is “I feel frustrated”.  I am having a feeling; I am not the feeling.

There is a wonderful technique called the Sedona Method that teaches a simple set of techniques that allow us to effortlessly “let go” of any unwanted thought or feeling – any attachment or aversion.  With these blocks removed, you will feel more confidence, more at ease and more willing to take the bold actions that produce success.

We can fight and struggle and force our way to success.  We really can.  I know.  I have done it.  But ultimately it is a hard, stressful, frustrating journey.  I think you know what I mean.

Or we can learn to easily overcome the resistance that creates a flow to life.  When we overcome our attachments and aversions, we become truly free to be, do and have whatever we desire.  It’s easy.  It really is.

I encourage you to learn more about any program that teaches you to “let go”.  It is the most powerful personal development tool I have ever learned.  My favorite program on the market is the Sedona Method course – the original and still the best program of its kind.  The link below offers a free newsletter to learn more, and you can also order a free introductory tape that includes a demonstration of one of the basic releasing techniques they teach.  I encourage you to experience this program for yourself and discover the exhilarating possibility of true freedom from your attachments and aversions.

Wishing you all the success and abundance you can allow into your life,

John R. Barker

Lester Levenson’s Amazing Story

Lester Levenson’s Amazing Story

“I was born July 19, 1909 in Elizabeth, New Jersey into a middle class family as a very shy person. I tried to do things the way they were supposed to be done — doing the right thing, getting a good education, and being the best in my field. My natural inclination was towards science. Especially the science of the world, and of man himself. I graduated from Rutgers University in 1931 as a physicist, after which I worked 20 some years in physics and engineering.

“I also went into various businesses, including restaurants, lumber, building and oil, intertwined with engineering, wanting to make money– wanting to make it in the world. At that time, I did not know what I now know — that what I was seeking was actually the answers to life itself. And nothing that I had worked at would give me that answer. As the years went by, I became heavy with depression and with sickness. By 1952, I had been through constant illness — I even had jaundice three or so times a year. I had an enlarged liver, kidney stones, spleen trouble, hyper and hypos acidity, ulcers that perforated and formed lesions, and to top it off, I had at least 10 years of migraine headaches.

“This all culminated in 1952 when I had my second coronary thrombosis.”

“After the second coronary, I was told I would not live much longer — that I might die any day and shouldn’t make the effort to take so much as a step unless I necessarily had to. I was extremely fearful of dying, but I said to myself, “You’re still breathing, Lester — there is still a chance.” So I sat down and began thinking on an “around the clock” basis. I had been considered a very smart boy. I always made the honor roll. I had been the recipient of a four-year scholarship to Rutgers back in the days when not many scholarships were handed out. But then being told after my second heart attack that I wouldn’t live, I said to myself,

“Lester, you are stupid, stupid, stupid.”

The Power of Positive Feelings

The Power of Positive Feelings

You feel powerful and strong. You feel an energy inside you that says “I am here to do something great!” You feel yourself walk into any situation, confident and at peace. You feel successful.

Ah, how good it feels!

Have you ever noticed that we ask each other, “How are you feeling today?” I have never met anyone who asked me, “How are you thinking today John?”

Why is this?

Perhaps it is because how we feel is how we live. If I feel miserable, my life reflects that misery. If I feel confident, then I act confident and I attract into my life that which I desire because I feel I deserve it.

In every moment, you and I feel something. And these feelings we have shape our destiny. Notice I write “these feelings we have”. Feelings do not have us; we have feelings.

Most personal development focuses on thinking. Change your thinking and you change your life. I agree, but thinking arises from feeling. If I am holding tension in my body, if I feel tense, then my thinking is shaped by tension. And I react accordingly.

That tension is the result of accumulated thoughts and feelings. And the more thoughts that accumulate, the greater the tension (also known as stress) until ultimately I make myself ill; both physically and mentally.

Positive thinking is a great idea, but it has limitations, does it not? Can you tell me what your next thought will be? Not without thinking about it! And by the time you have come up with an answer your mind has already moved on to something else.

Plus all thoughts are found in the past. One cannot think in this moment. One can only experience this moment and it is this moment and the succession of this moment that make your life. Right now, plus right now, plus right now, equal your life and the results you create.

To make a change in how you experience and what you do with “right now” you must act on the feeling level to make true changes. And by changing how you feel right now, you change your destiny.

We all know of this power. It is a power we are born with that becomes discarded when we are told to stop feeling and start thinking. All limitations exist only in our thinking, yet that is exactly what everyone is telling us to do! Get an education and learn your limits!

If you have ever watched a young child develop, you will notice how they do not accept “no” for an answer. Failure does not stop us until we learn that failure means something bad. We then spend the rest of our life trying to reprogram our mind with clichés about how failure is the foundation of success, but do we really believe it? As children we fall, we hurt, we let the feeling go and we take off running again. As adults we fall, we hurt, and we tell stories about it for the rest of our life to anyone who will listen!

If you want to achieve a breakthrough in any area of your life, stop trying to reprogram your mind and notice how you feel. When you set a goal, notice the feelings that arise for you. Fear? Anxiety? Doubt? They are nothing more than feelings; electro-chemical impulses.

The good news? You can learn to let these feelings go and when you do, your potential has new life and it expands beyond the limits of thought. You feel a new energy when you realize all that prevents you from having all that you desire are these feelings which you have chosen to hold on to because you think, yes you think, they serve you in some way.

No analyzing is necessary, nor programming or re-programming, nor words; just feelings. Powerful feelings.

To re-learn how to access your natural ability to let go of any unwanted feeling discover the Sedona Method Course. Click here to order your free tape and subscription.

Who Succeeds When Two Believe They Will Win?

by : John Watson

I hope you had a good week since I last wrote. As you know some days things go really well; other days nothing seems to succeed. We all know how important belief is to success but what else leads to  victory and success?

On 27th January 2007, Serena Williams defeated Maria Sharapova in the final of the Australian Open Tennis Tournament in Melbourne.

She not only defeated her; she wiped the floor with her. Serena’s victory was described as the demolition of the world’s number one female tennis player.

Both Maria and Serena had parents who had taught them from childhood: “You can do it!”

Both believed their parents and had put in the work to support their belief. Maria is probably one of the best prepared women on the tour and has a record second to none.
